Evidence standards

Watch and avoid entries are built from the Bureau's daily monitoring of regulator registers, court records and credible media reporting. Every entry is reviewed by the Bureau before listing and is published with its dated, sourced evidence — nothing is listed on rumour or a single unverified report. The avoid list applies the strictest standard: misconduct confirmed by a regulator, court or the operator's own admission — never allegations alone.

Right of reply

Operators can respond to any watch or avoid entry by contacting hello@bureauofbookmaking.com.au. Responses are reviewed and, where appropriate, reflected in the entry. Entries are removed when the underlying matter is resolved.

Nothing here is for sale

The Bureau sells nothing — there are no paid placements, sponsorships or advertising of any kind, and an operator cannot claim, buy or edit its own register entry. There is therefore no commercial relationship that could bear on a determination. These disclosures appear wherever the statuses do:

Approved status is determined solely by the Bureau's published criteria. It cannot be purchased, and it is withdrawn if an operator enters the watch or avoid list.

Recommended status is the Bureau's highest assessment tier, determined solely by published criteria. It cannot be purchased, and it is withdrawn immediately on any watch or avoid listing.

Revocation

Approved and recommended status is conditional. If an operator enters the watch or avoid list, its approved or recommended status is withdrawn — immediately in the case of recommended. Statuses are restored only when the operator again meets every published criterion.
